Warrants
/ Warrant Cards

A
major role of my office, as of numerous other Constable
Office’s around the state, is to serve outstanding
criminal warrants. In 2003 my office cleared 214 misdemeanors
and felony warrants which equated to over $50,606.
This is one particular area that the deputy constables
play
a major role. Deputies, as well as myself, serve warrants
by several different means. Initially Warrant Cards
are mailed to wanted individuals. It clearly states
that
the wanted person has outstanding warrants for his
or her arrest and if the warrants are not cleared up,
they
are subject to arrest at their residence or place of
business. In many instances, this will take care of
the warrant. After a short time with no response, deputies
attempt to locate these individuals and if located,
place
them under arrest at their residence or place of employment.
This has proven to be a successful program in clearing
thousands of dollars in outstanding warrants.
Hot Check Program
The Hot Check Program is a combined effort of both the
Wharton County Justice of the Peace Precinct #2 and the
Wharton County
Constable’s Office Precinct #2. Both Judge Cynthia Kubicek
and Constable John A. Szymanski have identified a growing problem
within Precinct #2 and have addressed it head on. more-->
